Eric spent 36 days in the Burn Center of Via Christi Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. He received top-notch care and the staff extended a great deal of support to the family. The Fiore family wanted to do something to help other burn patients and their families, and thus the idea of an Eric Basket was formed.
An Eric Basket is a container of useful items such as stamps, a blank journal, a phone card, and personal items. It also contains a
letter of hope from the Fiore family and a picture letter explaining who Eric was.There is also information about the
Phoenix Society an organization for burn survivors.
It is the family's wish that patients with burns and their families know that there are people who care and want to help them in their struggle with the pain and trauma of burns.
